About the GoodLooking Foundation

We are a growing community of care located in Southern New Jersey.  The GoodLooking Foundation understands that autism affects every member of the family.  Our programs are designed for kids and parents alike.  Children, both on and off the spectrum, participate in a variety of fun and creative activities under the supervision of a professional staff, while parents have the opportunity to enjoy some well-deserved downtime.  If you are the parent of a child on the spectrum or a volunteer looking to lend a helping hand, contact us.

Our Mission

The GoodLooking Foundation’s mission is to improve the outlook on autism by establishing GoodLooking Centers in pursuit of the following goals:

  • Create a caring and productive environment where children on the autism spectrum can play with and learn from each other and their typically developing peers,

  • Provide parents with a child on the autism spectrum with opportunities for respite and relaxation, and

  • Increase awareness of available services and assistance for families with a child on the autism spectrum

Our Name

Our name derives from the language of autism therapists, who use the phrase “Good Looking” to praise children on the autism spectrum when they make eye contact.  This interaction is often challenging for children with autism but can be a critical building block in their development. The phrase was a beacon of hope for our family in the days following the diagnosis of our son Joe Joe.  It gave us the feeling that better days were on the way – and they were.
